Paul joined Price Waterhouse Singapore (predecessor firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in 1987. In 1989, he was transferred to the Sydney, Australia office of Price Waterhouse, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. On his return to Singapore in 1993, he joined Ernst & Young as Audit Manager. Paul was the Finance Manager responsible for the international operations of a Malaysian group in 1995, before he joined RSM Chio Lim in 1996. He was admitted to the partnership in 1997.

Paul is currently the head of RSM Chio Lim’s audit and tax services. Apart from audit partner sign-off responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of listed and privately held clients, Paul’s professional experience includes acting as Reporting Auditors for several IPOs on the Singapore Exchange, providing due diligence and transaction support services in acquisitions as well as advisory services to companies, including listed companies, in corporate turnaround and recovery, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Paul currently serves as a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and also ACRA’s Practice Monitoring Subcommittee. ACRA’s Practice Monitoring Subcommittee is tasked with reviewing the results of inspections of audit firms performed under the Practice Monitoring Programme. ACRA is the independent regulatory body that regulates auditors in Singapore, similar in function to the PCAOB in the US. Paul also served as a lay member of the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Panel from 2008 to 2010.
