Rick started as an auditor in Ernst & Young after graduation. He moved on to its Corporate Advisory department where he specialised in insolvency for 9 years. He is experienced in handling diverse insolvency assignments ranging from corporate governance to restructuring work to liquidation. His restructuring portfolio includes Tang Dynasty theme park, Sogo departmental stores, Crown Prince hotel and mainboard-listed companies such as Showpla Asia and Citiraya Industries. He was also involved in the corporate governance review of a large non-profit organisation.

Prior to joining Stone Forest Corporate Advisory, he was the finance director of 2 advertising firms under WPP, an international advertising group and before that, he was the financial controller of a mainboard-listed company.
