In 1996, CLSF embarked on an extensive exercise to put several quality systems in place, which led to the public accounting arm becoming the first accounting firm in Singapore to be ISO 9002 certified in 1997.
(The ISO 9002 has been replaced by ISO 9001:2000 in Year 2003).
PCAOB Registration
The public accounting arm is also registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) in the USA.
The PCAOB was established by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 to oversee the audit of US public companies. Accounting firms auditing the financial statements of these companies must be registered with the PCAOB, which implements quality control, ethics standards and periodic inspections and possible disciplinary proceedings.
