RSM International and International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to help Singapore-based companies expand overseas. This public-private partnership was formalised on 3 May 2006 by Ms Jean Stephens, Chief Executive Officer of RSM International, and Mr Ted Tan, Acting Chief Executive Officer of IE Singapore. In a strong show of confidence for RSM, on 29 June 2009, the MOU was renewed for a further two years with expanded scope.

RSM International offers IE Singapore the platform for internationally active Singapore companies to seek initial consultation relating to doing business in the 72 countries that RSM has offices in. RSM Chio Lim will manage this initiative together with the RSM Asia Pacific office.

Singapore companies can receive preliminary assistance in terms of initial advice relating to market entry into Asia Pacific, Africa, Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. Areas of advice include company set-up procedures, compliance issues like tax, audit, accounting, payroll, employment, and also direction to relevant local government bodies or other professionals like lawyers, bankers. RSM International was also appointed as the exclusive Global Tax and Market Setup Partner for IE Singapore’s iadvisory Portal. This new portal allows Singapore companies to access a select pool of global advisors online to support their overseas expansion.
